"Man-Made" Forest Fires Rage Across Parts Of Uttarakhand Representational Picture Nainital district in the Kumaon region emerged as a hotspot, with multiple fires reported. The recent surge in fires was largely attributed to heightened dryness caused by a heat wave in Champawat and Nainital districts, bordering Nepal. Man-made causes were also highlighted, with arrests made in Rudraprayag and Garwah forest divisions for deliberate acts of arson. Negligence, including the burning of farmlands, was identified as a significant contributor to forest fires. Forest officials issued warnings and initiated a signature campaign for public awareness. There were 47 new incidents ignited across the state, consuming approximately 78 hectares of forest land. The Kumaon region bore the brunt with 30 incidents scorching 51 hectares, while Garhwal witnessed 16 fires affecting 25 hectares, including one incident in protected forests spanning 1.5 hectares. Strangely, it can never be lit up at night, lying in shrouded unearthly moonlight or covered with clouds at night and never been able to be lit up for 400 years!  Attempts to try have failed mystically.  Religious Extremism is Anathema   “Zephaniah 2:4-7 “No one will be left in the city of Gaza, and the city of Ashkelon will be destroyed.
